Austria is one of THE pioneers in promoting and expanding energy from renewable sources and Renewable Energy Communities in Europe. A Renewable Energy Community is permitted to generate energy from renewable sources, and to consume, store, or sell the self-generated energy. (§79 Renewable Expansion Act – EAG) Network operators are obliged to ensure that every eligible person (= electricity customer) who meets the respective requirements and requests the corresponding use of the (electricity) grid (regulated grid access system), either participates in a
