On January 20, 2025, FAMILY OF POWER, represented by Gerd Ingo Janitschek, participated in the kickoff meeting of the "Renewable Wald4tel" real-world laboratory. The event marked the official start of the FFG flagship project "Renewable Wald4tel," moderated by DI Albert Treytl from the Department of Integrated Sensor Systems at the Faculty of Education, Art, and Architecture.

The project aims to develop innovative system solutions for a regional, decentralized, and fully renewable energy supply. Key areas of focus include:

  • Grid relief and increased grid capacity
  • Sector coupling between electricity, heat, and mobility
  • Dynamic use of biomass and combined heat and power (CHP)
  • Optimizing electromobility as a flexibility component

FAMILY OF POWER takes on key tasks in the project:

  • Implementation of cross-sector concepts via its own booking platform
  • Integration of BEV car-sharing offers in conjunction with energy management systems (EMS)
  • Support for the system architecture of combined electric vehicle car-sharing
  • Setup and management of field tests, including data monitoring
  • Co-development of dynamic pricing and benefit models for car-sharing

With the contribution of FAMILY OF POWER, concrete best-practice models are being developed that demonstrate how Renewable Energy Communities, local heating networks, and mobility solutions can be effectively linked regionally and practically.

The project runs until 2040 and aims to gradually demonstrate and validate the path towards a 100% renewable energy supply in the Waldviertel region.

We are pleased to be part of this forward-looking project and to contribute our expertise in mobility and energy communities — for a sustainable, regional energy future.
